Celebrate Recovery® (CR) started in 1991 at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, by John Baker with the support of his Associate Pastor, Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life.

Who can benefit from this program?

The Bible clearly states, “all have sinned.”  Because of sin, we’ve all hurt ourselves, we’ve all hurt other people and others have hurt us.  This means each of us need repentance and recovery in order to live our lives the way God intends.

Celebrate Recovery

  • Is based on the teaching of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.  He taught “Eight Ways to Be Happy.”  These eight principles are God’s road to recovery, wholeness, and spiritual maturity.
  • Is forward looking.  Regardless of what has already happened, the solution is to start making wise choices now and depend on Christ’s power to make those changes.
  • Emphasizes spiritual commitment to Christ.  Lasting recovery cannot happen without it.
  • Utilizes the biblical truth that we need each other to grow spiritually and emotionally.  It is built around small group interaction in a safe, caring and confidential community.
  • Addresses all types of habits, hurts and hang-ups, not only alcohol and drugs.  CR is a “large umbrella” program under which any issue can be dealt with.

We meet every Thursday night.
